Face Mask Recipes

Ok so here are the face mask recipes that I promised a few days ago:

Oatmeal Smoothie: Mix 3 tablespoons of old-fashion (not instant), uncooked, oatmeal with 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt into a paste and pat on your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse it off and pat dry.

Papaya Mask: Lightly mash half a papaya in a bowl with a fork or your fingers. Rub the papaya over your face. Let the fruit dry for about 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Banana Mash Mask: Mash one ripe banana in a bowl with a fork. (Don't over mash it or it'll be to runny.) Mix in one teaspoon of honey. Spread the mask onto your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse clean with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Many people are afraid of blush because they dont exactly know how to put it on right. Well there are many different methods, but really it depends what looks natural on your own face.
Instead of buying expensive products that claim to work "perfectly for everyone" here are some tips to make blush highlight the natural beauty in your face:

1. Tap or lightly blow on the applicator brush to remove any excess blush before applying to prevent a harsh and uneven application.

2. Apply your blush on the apple of the cheek and carefully blend towards your natural hairline.

3. If you have two shades, apply the darker one on the apple of the cheek first, then use the lighter shade to highlight. Blend well so there is no visible line between colors.

4. Highlight your temples, forehead and chin.

Tip: To know "where to glow" bend over for 30 seconds, then slowly stand up. Where your cheeks are flushed is where you are meant to blush. Apply your blush there and it will be naturally rosy every time.

Tip: Cheek color should be used to enhance your complexion, not to change your natural skin tone. Use sparingly for daytime, then add more or a deeper shade for a more dramatic nighttime effect. For special occasions, dust a lightly frosted powder over your cheekbones for a subtle but alluring glow.

Tip: Make sure to blend your blush into your foundation well or it will tend to look unnatural and add the appearance of 5 years to your looks.

Hey so here is my contribution to Ronni's awesome de-stressing advice. The a.) pulling your hair out is a disease called Trichotillomainia and it is not as rare as you think, so if you have it, don't be ashamed, go to a doctor! With therapy, you can stop pulling your hair and your bald spots will eventually go away [ : ) haha]. And don't think I'm a freak because I know that. I had to get an article for health and I picked that one cause of the name. Oh and b the innocent people one, sorry Ronni babe. Haha, that's what I do, and c too. And to the face mask part, I will post some great recipes for some great facials on Thursday, or Friday, or at the latest by Saturday!!! Promise!

well, calm down because we have some original and quick tips that can help you relax and de-stress! :)
Here they are:

*relax the muscles in your hands by covering your hands in deep moisturizing lotion (we recomend Aveeno) and then putting them in warm, damp washclothes. relax for 5 minutes
*take your favorite scented candle and sit Indian-style on your floor. clear your mind and breath deeply.
*wash your face and give it a good oatmeal and cucumber renovation while reading your favorite mag (it only takes 10 mins!)
*lay on your back. place a round, flat, medium sized stone and place it on your stomach. the gentle weight of the stone with help you to breathe deeper.(for fun you can paint the rock :)

Just take ten to fifteen minutes out of your daily scheldule and believe us, your stress level will go down. you and everyone around you will be happier (i mean you and the innocent strangers that you take it out on will be happier. lol)

Dry, Winter Skin

So you know how when you have a biscuit or something that you want to eat but it's hard, you stick it in the microwave with a glass of water so the the moisture gets transferred to the biscuit and it's all fluffy again? Well in winter don't you kind of wish you could do that with yourself so you weren't all dry and flaky from the cold? Well yeah, we do. So here are some tips for staying moisturized...
  • Keep a hand lotion with you at all times
  • Same thing with lip balm (Chapstick is our favorite and its only like $2)
  • After showers put lotion on (remember warm showers dry you out more but cold showers in winter aren't that appealing)
  • Have a good face moisturizer that you put on in the mornig (ones with SPF are a good choice)
  • Wear gloves to protect your hands from getting chapped and crap from the elements
  • Drink lots of water!

Something you HAVE to Know About

The Best Website Ever!
Ok, so we found this website. And it's amazing. The Find. So you can type in what you are looking for and a load of stuff will come up from different websites. But it gets better! You can adjust the price range so only things you can afford show up. It'll include pictures and prices and you just click on them and go to the website that the item is from! And believe me, you can pretty much type in almost anything and it'll find it for you. So enjoy!

Tips From a Stylist

Stylist Ilaria Urbinati recently created a look for less for InStyle magazine . She also added 3 tips for smart shopping. Here they are....
  1. "The less structured an item, the cheaper it'll go. Things that are well tailored are harder to find at a lower price, but blouses, sweaters, shorts- those are no-brainers."
  2. "Chains usually specialize in at least one type of clothing. Learn which store is good for shirts or better for pants and so on."
  3. If you know your proportions, you can shop at any price because you're aware of what suits you. For example, I'm skinny on top, wider on the bottom, so I wear A-line shapes."

Spring Break

Ahhh.... Spring Break

S0 who is not excited for spring break? NO ONE COOL, obviously. Ha so anyway, whether you are going somewhere or not, to me spring break marks the end of crapy, cold, snowy winter. So we, and probably most of you, plan ahead on what to wear, buy, and do. My family will be traveling to someplace beachy and I already know what O'Neill swimsuit I HAVE to get for it. So some advice for the people we are blogging for (the ones with "small wallets" like us), SAVE. Get the perfect pair of gladiators on sale, and remember, money isn't always quality. Find the best and most affordable pair, along with cover ups and stuff like that. And don't forget sunscreen! Seriously, you can't get much better than the sunscreen you find at Walmart. So babes, planning is good! And looking awesome for less because of it is even better.
