OBSESSION: Fab Fabric Quarters
ive fallen in love with my local craft store and in the midst of that love is none other than fabric quarters. <3>
~BOWS baby! grab your needle and thread and make simple or complicated looking bows to add as a brooch or make a bunch to add some pizazzzz to a plain tee (at the collar). for the sewing impaired, (or people like me who can't handle pointy objects like needles) just tie strips of fabric "shoe lace" style over headbands, belts or on the sleeve of your favorite tunic
~add patches to shirts, shorts rompers, anything!! if your going for a beat up look (like Rae's fabo burned and destroyed shorts), rip the fabric or use a lousy pair of scissors instead of clean cutting the patches. then when sewing on the patch, leave about a centimeter edge to show off the frayed edge. for another cool look, stray from the norm square patch and go for other shapes, or random letters of the alphabet
~make a pencil case, clutch or makeup pouch ( just buy a strip of zipper at your beloved local craft store)
~be creative and come up with more unique ideas!!

Top 3 Back to School Picks
Ok so I have been doing a lot of thinking about back to school shopping and here are my top 3 things that I will not go back to school with out:

1! Fred Flare's Faux Fur Vest $60
2! Dr. Marten's White+Black Softy T+Glitter Flocking $120
3! Mod Cloth's Slim Skirt $38
DIY Bleached Jeans
Here are the pants before. I soaked them in a mixture of 2/3 water and 1/3 bleach until I got them to be a whitish blue. After they got to be the right color I put them in the wash, and then the dryer. After that, I added different embellishments to make them perfect!
DiY Harem Pants
So here are my gauchos, I had to get them for my chorus concerts. Yes, they may be comfortable, but not something I would really like to wear on a normal basis. So I quit chorus (I had enough of my teacher) and didn't need the pants anymore. Yay!! So I decided to make them into something I actually would wear.
- Fold them inside out
- Make the seems bigger by pinning the edges of the giant legs to hug your calves, but only a few inches high.
- Sew where you pinned
- Done!
And below, the finished product!
I paired them with a t shirt I tie dyed and cut up, and a pair of Nine West shoes. BTW: harem pants look best with heels but find the pair that fits your style and harem pants : ) For example, I wore them with black gladiators to school.
